The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and research in the area of atmospheric sciences. We seek an outstanding scientist with an international reputation in theoretical and experimental analysis of land surfaceatmosphere interactions. Matter and energy fluxes play a crucial role and should be assessed with state-of-the-art methods. High level skills in numerical modelling of climate relevant processes at multiple scales are highly desirable. Cooperation with groups from related disciplines is essential with the expectation to contribute to joint research proposals. Multidisciplinary research experience related to ecology, hydrology, soil science and biogeochemistry is desirable. An involvement in the Centre for Sustainable Landscape Development is expected. Compulsory and elective courses in the area of atmospheric sciences are taught as part of Bachelor and Master programmes in the faculty, namely: Environmental Resources Management, Environmental Engineering, Renewable Raw Materials and Regenerative Energy, and Land Use and Water Resources Management. Involvement in structured PhD programmes and contributions to curriculum development within the Graduate Research School is expected. Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is expected. Fields of research should be relevant for DFG (German Research Foundation) funding.
