Professorship (W3)
Algorithmic Mathematics

commencing at the earliest opportunity.
We are seeking a researcher who is internationally recognized in a current field of algorithmic and discrete mathematics. The candidate is expected to strengthen and complement the faculty’s research focus in mathematical optimization and to have a strong research profile in algorithmic and discrete mathematics or integer programming. The new professor should foster collaborations with scientists of other fields, especially computer science and engineering.
Besides teaching duties in discrete mathematics and optimization, introductory courses in algebra and cryptography as well as courses for other study programmes should be offered.

Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.

Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is expected. Fields of research should be relevant for DFG (German Research Foundation) funding. Lectures are primarily to be held in German, fluency in English is expected.
