The Medical Faculty at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt, Center of Internal Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine 1 at the University Hospital (Director: Prof. Dr. S. Zeuzem) invites applications for the following position:

Professorship (W2)
for Translational Hepatology

The appointee to this position should strengthen Translational Hepatology in the Department of Internal Medicine 1. The scientific focus should be either in the field of „acute-on-chronic liver failure“ with its infectious, metabolic or toxic triggers and/or in the field of hepatic fibrosis.
The candidate has an internationally recognized research profile, successfully managed to obtain third-party funding and is an innovative educator with a documented history of University teaching experience.
Clinical responsibilities will be broad and require interdisciplinary collaborations with the Department of Visceral Surgery and Transplantation as well as with the Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology within the University Liver Center Frankfurt. The successful candidate will represent Hepatology in research, teaching and clinical care.
Adequate staff, laboratory space and equipment will be allocated to the professorship.
Prerequisites for the application are a University degree, significant teaching skills, a Doctorate and Habilitation (postdoctoral lecture qualification levels) or comparable scientific achievements as part of a Junior Professorship or acquired at a non-university institution.
