The Medical Faculty at Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt invites applications for the following position at the Center of Dental, Oral, and Maxillofacial Medicine and at the Carolinum University Institute of Dental, Oral, and Maxillofacial Medicine (non-profit LCo):

Professorship (W2) for Oral Surgery

The holder of the position will be the head of the Department of Oral Surgery and Dental Implantology. The applicant will be expected to have an internationally recognized reputation in research and will be co-responsible for research and teaching in the field of oral surgery and especially dental implantology. Furthermore, his/her obligations shall encompass outpatient care in the context of research and teaching. The department is focused on the fields of dental implantology, surgery of the associated soft and hard tissues as well as detection and treatment of diseases of the oral mucosa, all of which shall be further developed. The holder of the position will academically be part of the Professorship of Oral, Cranio-Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgery.
The successful candidate must have a broad clinical knowledge in the field of oral surgery and dental implantology, experience in leading a clinical unit, an extensive university teaching experience using modern and effective teaching methods and an outstanding scientific profile equivalent to the level of “Habilitation” (post-doctoral lecturing qualification), including an international publication record and projects with external funding. Strong organizational skills and didactic abilities, a proven commitment to teaching and the willingness to collaborate with the Department of Oral, Cranio-Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgery and the neighbouring disciplines of the academic Center of Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine (Carolinum), that is, orthodontics, periodontology, prosthodontics as well as cariology, endodontology and pediatric dentistry, are mandatory. The designated salary for the position will be based on “W2” of the German university scale. The associated duties and responsibilities regarding clinical care will be specified in a separate agreement. This agreement may be waived if the billing authority has already been granted.
