We seek a highly qualified person who combines outstanding scientific and practical excellence in methods and concepts of transnational social work as well as international experience and/or international perspectives (EU and worldwide). The position requires teaching primarily in the bachelor’s programs "Social Work: transnational" and "Social Work" and includes the care and guidance of students regarding their study-related stays abroad.
The candidate should:
- be internationally networked with organisations of social work and/or with universities and professional societies of social work and/or have an international perspective on fields of social work;
- have experience in culture-sensitive and intersectional methods and teaching;
- have teaching experience in English; teaching experience in German is not essential. A good command of another language is of advantage. Non-German-speaking candidates are expected to have a basic knowledge of the German language.

We expect the following from our professors:
Strong presence at the University of Applied Sciences and intensive support of students; participation in basic training, i.e. the representation of the fields of study in an introductory form for all degree courses of the Faculty; ability and tendency to conduct research; procurement of external funding; gender and diversity competence; participation in international activities of the institute, including lectures held in the English language; participation in interdisciplinary studies (Studium Generale); contributions to the offers in the frame of continuing education, lifelong learning and eLearning; takeover of responsibility in academic self-governance; continuing education in the respective discipline and academic didactics; cooperativeness with other institutes of higher education in the region; dedication and initiative in the frame of a performance-oriented compensation.
The employment provision of §§ 61 and 62 of the Higher Education Act of Hesse (HHG) apply. The vacancy is a permanent position. In a first appointment to a professorship, it is at first an employment as a civil servant on probation or a permanent position with a 3-year long probationary period. Further official tasks and requirements result from §§ 61-63, 68 and 69 of the Higher Education Act of Hesse (HHG).
