Financed by the German Tenure-Track-Programme for Young Researchers, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena seeks to appoint a
Professor of Business Dynamics, Innovation and Economic Change (W1, Tenure Track)starting in the winter semester 2018/2019. We seek candidates with a strong research interest in entrepreneurship, innovation economics and/or innovation management. A focus should be on entrepreneurial activities and the resulting change processes. An empirical approach is preferred. The successful candidate will teach at the bachelor, master and doctoral level (in German and in English) at the intersection of economics and business administration. In particular, the course program should contribute to the specialization area „Innovation and Change“. Non-native German speakers will be expected to teach in German after 3-4 years. The successful candidate will run (also third-party funded) research projects at the national and international level, cooperate with other fields, align the research focus with the main research areas of the faculty and the Friedrich Schiller University (https://www.uni-jena.de/en/Profile_lines.html) as well as actively participate in academic self-administration. An involvement in the newly established „Schumpeter Center for the Research on Socio-Economic Change” is planned. Applicants will possess a doctorate in economics or business administration related to this position and will ideally have existing international research cooperations. Applicants are expected to demonstrate their potentials to produce international publications as well as high quality teaching and supervision of undergraduate students, graduates and doctoral candidates. Experience in acquisition of third-party funding would be an asset. For this position, candidates are required to have a university degree, ability to teach and a special competence in scientific work. This competence should be evident in an outstanding doctorate. The length of their doctoral studies and employment period should not exceed six years in total. The successful candidate will initially be employed for four years. On a successful completion of the first review, the contract will be extended for additional two years. On a successful completion of the final review, the position will be promoted to a professorship paid on salary scale W2 after six years of employment without additional selection procedure.
