Professorship in Sociology (W2, tenure track)
with a special focus on
The initial tenure track appointment is for six years (§ 64 of the
Higher Education Act of the State of Hessen (HHG)). Upon positive
evaluation, the incumbent will be promoted to a permanent position
at a higher level (W3).
Women’s and Gender Research
The successful applicant will have an international reputation in the field of feminist social theory and be an advocate of theoretically and empirically sound gender relations sociology in both research and teaching. Research interests in the areas of gender and diversity, intersectionality or gender-specific division of labour are desirable. Close collaboration with the Cornelia Goethe Center is expected. It is also expected of the successful applicant that he/she is willing to participate in current and planned research projects at the University and engage in teaching on a wide scale in all the Faculty's degree programmes. The successful candidate will also be involved in teacher-training. Experience in teaching at school and novel ideas regarding this topic are welcome. Experience in securing third-party funding is an asset.
The initial designated salary for the position is based on "W2/W3" on the German university scale or equivalent.
