The Department of Economics and Business Economics at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University invites applications for a position as
professor (fixed-term) in the field of Economics with specialization in "Macroeconomics, International and Monetary Economics"
and/or "Finance and insurance". The professorship is a full-time and fixed-term five-year position with possible extension,
starting on 1 January 2018 or as soon as possible subject to mutual agreement. The professorship is sponsored by Danmarks
Nationalbank (the Danish Central Bank) to commemorate its 200th anniversary in 2018.

The successful applicant is expected to contribute significantly to the department’s research and teaching environment and to promote the overall research strategy of the School.
You are expected to teach and supervise students at Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD level and to carry out individual and group-based research of the highest international standard, which contributes to developing the academic field of Economics - particularly areas of relevance to Danmarks Nationalbank. In addition to your main affiliation with the Department of Economics and Business Economics at Aarhus BSS, you will be affiliated to the Danmarks Nationalbank. You will be expected to serve as supervisor to PhD student’s affiliated with Danmarks Nationalbank and to participate in research projects in collaboration with the research unit of Danmarks Nationalbank.
You should have a strong academic background with a strong theoretical and/or empirical research profile within topics of interest for the Danish Central Bank such as "Macroeconomics, International and Monetary Economics" and/or "Finance and insurance". You are expected to have a strong publication record with publications in international recognized top general or field journals. In addition, you should have a strong international research network and experience with research dissemination. Moreover, management skills as well as strong teaching qualifications are expected. Your potential for undertaking the special responsibilities in relation to the position is of particular relevance.
Employment as professor fixed term at Aarhus BSS requires completion of the supervision course and also the course Blended Learning - Go Online provided by Centre for Teaching and Learning at Aarhus BSS. If you have not completed the courses before commencement of employment, continued employment will be conditional on completion of the courses within a five year period.

The Department of Economics and Business Economics is one of the six departments at Aarhus BSS one of the four faculties at Aarhus University. Aarhus BSS unites the business and social science-related research fields and brings them closer together to reflect the close relationship between society and the business community. As part of a Top 100 university, Aarhus BSS, and specifically the Department of Economics and Business Economics, has achieved the distinguished AASCB, AMBA and Equis accreditations - the latter specifically applying to the school’s core business activities.
At the Department of Economics and Business Economics, we cover a broad range of academic areas. We aim to conduct research in a broad range of areas within economics business economics and offer degree programmes at the highest level. When you are employed at Aarhus University as a foreign researcher you may under certain conditions be eligible for the special tax scheme for foreign researchers. On this scheme you will only pay a gross income tax of 26 percent (excl. the job market contribution) for up to 5 years instead of the standard income tax.
