The professorship is linked with directorship of the University Centre
of Dentistry, Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Surgery, Department of
Prosthodontics with Propaedeutics at the Tübingen University Hospitals.
The successful candidate must be able to competently represent the
full spectrum of dental prosthodontics and propaedeutics in research,
teaching, and patient care.
Applicants should have conducted excellent international research and
be able to show to what extent their research work overlaps with the
Faculty of Medicine’s core research areas (neuroscience, immunology/
oncology, infection research, diabetes/ vascular medicine).
Interdiscipinary and translational research is expected, particularly
with respect to infection research/immunology, regenerative medicine/
medical technology, or health services research; the acquisition of
third-party funding; impulses for innovative and integrated teaching
formats with regard to national competence-based goals in dental
medicine (NKLZ catalogue) and the planned new licensing law, as well
as active involvement in the Faculty of Medicine’s joint research (e.g.
collaborative research centers, research units, German Centers of
Medical Research, Centre for Personalised Medicine).
Formal requirements for appointment are the Habilitation or equivalent
postdoctoral qualification, as well as proven teaching aptitude.
The applicant is expected to have many years of clinical experience
in dental prosthodontics and propaedeutics and comprehensive
knowledge of clinical implantology (prosthodontic and surgical)
care, and substantial experience in the management and business
administration of a department, as well as exceptional ability in the area
of personnel management. Cooperation and teambuilding are required
for the development of a new interdisciplinary organizational model
for the University Centre of Dentistry, Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial
