The Max Planck Institute of Experimental Medicine, Clinical Neuroscience, invites applications for a position as

Postdoc / Research Associate for Molecular /
Cellular Neuroscience

(Background Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine or related fields)
Highly qualified candidates with a clear commitment to basic and interdisciplinary research in the field of neuroscience and a documented focus on molecular/cellular biology are invited to apply. The position requires co-supervision (together with the department head) of a devoted and well trained team of PhD students and 4 technicians, all experienced in their respective field.
Applicants should hold a PhD in biological, biochemical or molecular medical sciences or related disciplines. The successful applicant should be fluent in English, have a strong interest in promoting his/her own scientific career in molecular/cellular neuroscience and in working in a multidisciplinary and international team. We are seeking highly enthusiastic and ambitious individuals with particular interest in research in the field of translational/clinical neurosciences. Specifically, the applicant would work on novel mouse models of neuropsychiatric phenotypes, e.g. certain aspects of schizophrenia or autism, with main focus on higher cognitive functions and novel treatment strategies. Applicants with broad experience in many areas of laboratory work ranging from immunohistochemistry including appropriate experience with confocal microscopy to experience with biochemistry and protein chemistry, ideally also with molecular biology/genetics, are particularly welcome.
The Max Planck Society is committed to employing more handicapped individuals and especially encourages them to apply.
Applications should be submitted, preferably via e-mail, to Prof. Ehrenreich, via the department secretary, Mrs. Wiebke Timner, until October 15, 2017.
