The Division of Immunogenetics is seeking to fill

2 Postdoc Positions
in Translational Research

(Ref-No.166/2017)

Description:
The Division of Immunogenetics at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) headed by Prof. Peter H. Krammer is inviting applications from highly qualified candidates for postdoc positions in a new translational research program on molecular immuno-tolerance. This program is focused on the investigation of molecular and cellular pathways inducing antigen-specific peripheral tolerance.

We are looking for candidates to develop and validate novel molecular therapeutic agents based on candidate molecules from apoptotic cells investigated in our division for the treatment of patients with autoimmunity and allergy. A major aim of this program will be the functional, pre-clinical evaluation of these agents in murine disease models.

The advertised positions offer excellent opportunities for development in the rapidly growing fields of translational medicine and in planning, conduction and monitoring of pre-clinical studies. The DKFZ offers an outstanding scientific environment. Ample funding for material cost as well as well-equipped laboratory space will be provided.

Your profile:
We seek highly motivated candidates with a master and a PhD in biochemistry, biology or molecular medicine and with a strong immunological background. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in murine disease models (qualification of FELASA B expected). We look for a team player who is rigorous and able to independently conduct research, but also shares our division‘s spirit of collaboration.

The positions are limited to 2 years with the
possibility of extension. The positions can in
principle be part-time.
