Postdoc position (Immunomodulation)

starting from September 2017 for two years initially.
The successful candidate will work within the framework of a BMBF-funded collaborative research project (www.infectcontrol.de) on common principles of T-cell based diagnosis and immunomodulation by infection with Aspergillus fumigatus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Main topics of the project include:
  • Recombinant production of protein antigens
  • Transcriptome profiling of immune cells
  • Generation and characterization of macrophage knock-out cell lines
  • Isolation and analysis of immune cells from knock-out mice
Our requirements: PhD in natural sciences/life sciences (Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology). Good knowledge in standard techniques of microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, and biochemistry are expected. We would welcome a highly motivated co-worker with excellent communications skills and the ability to work on an interdisciplinary project.
We offer you a challenging project, which involves two partner groups at the Charité and the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology, state-of-the-art instrumentation, and great work opportunities in a dynamic research institute with high reputation. As a postdoc you will be a member of the Friedrich Schiller University Graduate Academy, which offers excellent competence courses. The successful candidate will be hosted in the Department of Molecular and Applied Microbiology (Prof. Axel A. Brakhage).
Salary is paid according to German TV-L (salary agreement for public service employees).
