The Chair for Quantitative Genetics and Genomics of Crops invites applications for the position of a

Postdoc (f/m)
in Bioinformatics / Plant Molecular Genetics

for 3 years, extension possible

Main research of the group is on the molecular, genetic and genomic dissection of heterosis and hybrid performance with a focus on epigenetics. We offer a stimulating interdisciplinary environment with active collaborations and exchange with national and international partners within and outside academia. The development of own research projects and the qualification with regard to a scientific career will be supported.

Tasks:
Program development for pipetting robots; NGS library preparation; Analysis, management and visualization of NGS data; Integration of genome-, transcriptome-, and DNA methylation-data of breeding populations and single cells; Implementation of statistical models; Teaching of students

Qualifications:
PhD in a branch of Natural Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computer Sciences or a comparable field. Knowledge in molecular biology / genetics; Experience in NGS data bioinformatics (e.g. sequence-, network-, and/or enrichment analyses); Programming skills; Knowledge on SQL databases and a quantitative orientation (e.g. experience in statistics and/or systems biology) is of advantage.
