Göttingen, "City of Science", lies near the center of Germany, the University Medical Center Göttingen is embedded in the city’s attractive network of scientific research facilities.
Our group focus on the establishment of patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and their applications in modelling cardiovascular diseases, especially dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). Our projects aim for the isolation and cultivation of somatic human cells, their reprogramming into iPSCs followed by differentiation into cardiomyocytes. Furthermore, we are interested in the signalling pathways behind these cardiovascular diseases.

The successful candidate for the PhD position is expected to hold a very good Master’s or other degree comparable to a German University Diploma in disciplines or fields related to biology, pharmacology or biochemistry and a strong interest in stem cell research to address interdisciplinary questions in the regenerative medicine. Fluent English in spoken and written is required, German knowledge is not a prerequisite but an advantage for the position.
Interested applicants should submit a personal motivation letter, the BSc and MSc certificate (or equivalent) including transcript of records and curriculum vitae, and at least two support letters or the name of three references.
