PhD Students/Research and Teaching Assistants

Your tasks:
  • Involvement in high-quality research projects
  • Teaching in the bachelor and master of science programs of the School of Management
  • Participation in the School‘s and LMU‘s self-administrationFakultät
Your profile:
  • An excellent university degree (master or diploma) in management, business administration, or economics, or a related field like psychology, sociology, etc.
  • A strong interest in the research fields of the Institute for Human Capital Management, including matching and talent management, pay models and pay transparency, people analytics, and networks in organizations.
  • Expertise in quantitative empirical methods/designs (e.g., survey data research and/or lab and field experiments); experience with statistics software (e.g., STATA, R) is helpful
  • A strong interest in high-quality teaching and cooperation with students
  • Team orientation and an interest in science and academia
  • An excellent command of the English language
The positions are affiliated with LMU‘s Institute for Human Capital Management. The Institute‘s research focuses on matching and talent management (recruitment, internal labor markets, careers, mobility, etc.), pay models and pay transparency, people analytics, and networks in organizations. An interest in one of these areas is required.
The Institute for Human Capital Management is part of LMU‘s Organizations Research Group ( We actively provide and support the opportunity to participate in the School‘s doctoral program ( and to actively participate in additional academic formats (research seminars, method workshops, etc.).
The latest starting date is April 1st, 2018, but earlier entries are possible and encouraged. The application deadline is November 26th, 2017. Interviews will be held until December 8th, 2017. The position is a fixed-term employment with a maximum duration of six years. Details are subject to negotiation. In the case of essentially equal qualifications, applicants with impairments will be given preference. Part-time employment is possible in principle. We encourage women to apply.
