For our Materials Technology Department we are looking for a co-worker in the field of red laser diodes

PhD student / Postdoc (m/f)
MOVPE growth of red AlGaInP laser diode heterostructures
(Reference number 19/17)

Candidates must have successfully completed their university education in natural sciences (masters degree, diploma or equivalent) in the field of physics, material sciences, electrical engineering or adjacent areas. Their focus has to be on compound semiconductors and semiconductor devices.
The research tasks include the development of MOVPE growth processes, the characterization of the layer structures and the correlation of their properties with those of devices processed from them. Education and experience in the fields of compound semiconductors, epitaxial growth or semiconductor devices are preferred. Diode lasers are fabricated via a long process chain, so excellent organizational and teamwork skills are essential for the successful completion of the research tasks. Good understanding of German and English is required, to enable effective research work as part of an international team.
The position is available from February 1st, 2018. Payment is according to TVöD (collective salary scheme for German public service). The appointment is initially limited in time to 2 years. If desired the possibility of obtaining a PhD is offered.
