Lund University

Opportunities for Postdoc and PhD student:
Molecular motors in designed nanostructures

NanoLund is the Center for Nanoscience at Lund University in Sweden. The research environment comprises about 300 scientists and staff in three faculties, and has a focus on the materials science, physics, chemistry and safety of designed functional nanostructures for energy, opto/electronics and life science applications. Key faciltiies include Lund Nano Lab, a modern clean room for the advanced fabrication of material and devices on the nanoscale, as well as state-of-the-art microscopy facilties.

A significant part of the work in NanoLund is in the area of bionanotechnology where we develop new methods to use nanotechnology for the study of biological systems or, vice versa, the use of biomolecular systems in nanotechnological devices. Among other activities, we are strongly engaged in international collaborations that aim to design, create and study artificial molecular motors based on proteins as well as development of biological computers based on molecular motors.

With new and ongoing projects, we are now looking to fill two positions:
• one Postdoctoral fellow with focus on nanofabrication and biocomputation w. molecular motors.
• one PhD student with focus on studying artificial protein motors using functional nanostructures.
