The research chair Energy, Materials and Systems in the faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Twente has 3 open positions for PhD students on Applied Superconductivity. All are four-year positions that concern the development of superconducting coils and magnet systems for specific applications: particle accelerators; magnetic density separation; and high-speed linear motors. All projects are strongly multidisciplinary and application-driven, covering aspects of material science, electromagnetism, mechanics and thermal engineering.
We are looking for bright and ambitious students that hold a MSc degree in applied physics or in mechanical engineering.

Conditions of employment

The gross monthly salary starts with € 2.191,- in the first year and increases to € 2.801,- in the fourth year of your employment. A high-quality training programme is part of the agreement. The research has to result in a PhD thesis at the end of the employment period.
