Max Planck Research Group Leader (m / f)Successful applicants will be offered a Max Planck Research Group for a period of five years (extension is possible). This includes a W2 position for the job holder (BesGr. W2 (BBesG)). The funding period is limited with the possibility of further extension in consideration of legal and financial regulations. The group draws on infrastructure and administration of the institute, but it will be located at the neighboring universities (Universität Duisburg-Essen, Ruhr-Universität Bochum). In addition, funds for personnel, equipment and running costs will be provided enabling the group leader to flexibly put the research program into practice.
Candidates should develop their own research project in one or more areas of chemical energy conversion:
- Synthesis and characterization of photo-, electro- or chemo-catalytic materials
- Operando spectroscopy in the laboratory or at the synchrotron
- Analysis of structure-property relationships
- Application or use of theoretical methods
