|The successful candidate will be a professor at the Institute for Solid State Physics, Faculty II – Mathematics
and Natural Science, Technische Universität Berlin and at the same time be the leader of an independent research
group at Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz-Institut (HHI).
Technische Universität Berlin and the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunication, Heinrich-Hertz-Institute co-operate in research and development in the field of ultra-fast opto-electronic semi-conductor devices and their applications. Within the framework of this co-operation both partners want to strengthen the teaching and research in the field of Terahertz sensors. The focus will be on the research and development of new devices and sensors in InGaAs/InP-materials for the efficient generation and detection of Terahertz-radiation.
Candidates for the position are expected to participate adequately in the teaching for the degree courses of the Faculty II – Mathematics and Natural Science. At the same time candidates will conduct be the leader of an independent research group at Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz-Institute (HHI).
Requirements:Successful applicants must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with § 102a BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a completed academic education, qualified achievements in research and a particular qualification for academic work normally attested by the excellent quality of a PhD, and pedagogical didactic qualifications, to be proven by teaching experience and visualized in a teaching portfolio (for further information see TUB Website, quick as no. 144242). Applicants should have adequate expertise and experience in at least one of the following research areas:
- Opto-electronic generation und detection of THz-radiation
- Micro-structuring in InP-materials
- Conception of integrated optical devices (laser, waveguides, modulators) for the use in THz-systems
- Radio-frequency engineering, design of antennae and waveguides
- Pulsed and cw-THz-metrology and their industrial application areas
