It is expected that the future professor will competently represent the department in
teaching and research with his/her extensive reflection of planning theory. Areas of
emphasis are on the one hand core competencies in planning theory and methodology
and on the other hand historical as well as current discussions and approaches.
Expected is profound knowledge of planning methods, communication strategies
and the various European planning cultures. Academic and practical experience in
these fields is desirable.
The teaching is to be conducted in the programs Urban and Regional Planning as well as Architecture. Candidates are expected to cooperate with the international program World Heritage Studies (in English) and programs of other faculties. The teaching load encompasses initially four hours and, subsequent to evaluation, six hours per week. It is expected that the candidate will actively engage in the development of the research field Smart Regions within the faculty and the university. Applicants are required to have an exceptional doctoral degree or equivalent qualifications in the field with strong connections to spatial planning. Altogether, at a positive intermediate evaluation a prolongation shall on be carried out for not more than six years. Lectures are primarily to be held in German, fluency in English is expected. Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is expected. Doctorate and occupation phase shall not have been together any more than six years.
