Junior Professorship (W1)
for Stem Cell Aging

at the Institute of Molecular Medicine (Director: Prof. Dr. Hartmut Geiger).
In a highly innovative, dynamic and supporting research environment, this position offers applicants with a track record of excellence in stem cells and stem cell aging the opportunity to establish an independent research program within the Institute of Molecular Medicine at Ulm University.
The successful applicant should have a focus on epigenetic or non-genetic mechanisms of stem cell aging and already made internationally recognized contributions to the field. The applicant has already published in leading international journals on the topic of stem cell research and has experience in successfully winning competitive grant proposals from leading funding institutions. The position asks for the establishment of an independent research program as well as contributions to teaching and academic administration. The University further expects participation in established as well as newly designed structured research programs like CRCs.
Basic requirements by state law (§ 51 LHG) include an university degree demonstrating the ability to perform scientific research (usually a doctoral degree) and outstanding records of research/teaching achievements.
The initial contract will be for three years (either „Beamtenverhältnis auf Zeit“ or regular contract). Upon positive evaluation, there will be an extension for an additional three years. A further extension is not possible.
