Junior Professor for Philosophy of Economics

(pay grade: W1)

This is a fixed-term civil service position initially limited to a period of three years. The position may be extended for up to three more years upon positive evaluation by the end of the first three years of employment. This position is not tenurable.
Applicants should have an excellent track record of research contributions in philosophy of science and philosophy of economics. The successful applicant will be expected, in both teaching and research, to contribute to the bachelor‘s and master‘s programmes Philosophy & Economics and to the focus area Governance & Responsibility. Ability to cooperate, both in research and teaching, with the Department of Economics is essential.
In addition to the general administrative requirements, prerequisites for this position are (in accordance with Articles 14 and 15 BayHSchPG) a university degree, proven excellence in teaching, and the ability to carry out scholarly research (generally demonstrated by the quality of the applicant‘s doctoral research). If the candidate was employed as a graduate assistant or research associate prior to or subsequent to earning his or her doctorate, the total duration of the doctoral research phase and the employment phase should not exceed six years.
