The Department of Anesthesiology and Operative Intensive Care Medicine of the Charité (Director: Prof. Dr. Claudia Spies) within the Charité Center 7 (CharitéCenter for Anesthesiology and Intensive Care) invites applications for the following position:

Junior Professorship for E-Health and Shared Decision Allocation (Salary Group: W1 BBesG, non-tenured)

The Department has long-lasting research experience in perioperative risk reduction with special regard to information technology. In this context, the professorship focus on the investigation of IT-based methods for optimizing the allocation of medical resources. Based on development, implementation and continuous evaluation/modification of these meth­ods, the junior professor will aim to establish quality-based structures in perioperative intensive care at the in/out hospital barrier.
The initial appointment is for three years with the possibility for an extension for another three years following successful evaluation.
The successful candidate must fulfill the appointments requirements in accordance with § 102a of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz, Gem. § 102a BerlHG).
The Charité seeks to fill this position with an outstanding, internationally recognized earlier career scientist. Applicants are required to have excellent background knowledge in conducting studies on the identification of security-related process indicators in clinical routine data. Scientific expertise in the subfields of "health informatics" and "computer science and society" are of key importance for the outlined research area.
The successful candidate will be engaged in teaching activities of the medical education curriculum at Charité, supervise Master and Doctoral candidates, and participate in academic self organization.
Appointment requirements are governed by article 102a of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz, Gem. § 102a BerlHG). To support the interdisciplinary nature of the professorship, a cooptation with the department of Computer Science at Humboldt-University is planned.
