Group Leader (m/f) - Plant Developmental Biology

The KWS Research Team is looking for a dedicated Senior Scientist to contribute to our international R&D network comprising of major lab facilities in Einbeck, Germany, and St. Louis, MO. To further strengthen our research in plant developmental biology we currently welcome applications for a Group Leader (m/f) position located at the KWS Headquarters in Einbeck on a full time and permanent basis. The holder of the position will work at the interface of basic research and trait development. He / she will translate the latest advances from research into innovative concepts for product development.

Your tasks:
  • Lead a multidisciplinary R&D group of scientists and research associates
  • Assume responsibility for the design, execution, and completion of projects for technology and product development
  • Interact with other research teams and support functions
  • Manage resources and budgets
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Maintain an open and stimulating working atmosphere, support the professional and personal development of group members

Your profile:
  • PhD or other higher qualification in biology or related sciences plus at least 5 years of re­cent experience in industry and/or academia in the field of plant developmental biology
  • Excellent knowledge in plant molecular biology, physiology, and genetics; personal working experience with a broad spectrum of experimental methods
  • Demonstrated examples of direct contribu­tions to elucidate the molecular basis of plant development, and preferably the induction of flowering
  • Distinctive leadership skills with strong orientation on goals and products
  • Proficient English language skills; basic German is an advantage
