Full Professor (W3)
The successful candidate will be under an initial five-year contract with the University Hospital Tübingen and the Tübingen Max Planck Institute. Successful acquisition of funding for a Max Planck Research unit is required.
The professorship will focus on basic research of mechanisms of tumorigenesis in zebrafish models in combination with mathematical modeling of the dynamics of oncogenic transformation of stem cell. The aim is to develop new, targeted approaches for cancer therapy using zebrafish models.
The successful candidate is expected to have an outstanding international proven track record in the area of basic experimental and theoretical developmental biology, with particular focus on zebrafish as a model system, and the mathematical modeling of cancer-relevant processes. He/she is expected to have obtained third-party funding (e. g. ERC Starting Grant or equivalent).
The successful candidate is expected to work in existing and planned joint research groups such as collaborative research centers (SFBs) and the German Centers of Health Research represented in Tübingen, and to help to develop original teaching concepts in the Medicine, Dentistry, and Molecular Medicine programs. He or she must have experience in international research networks.
Formal requirements for appointment are the Habilitation or equivalent postdoctoral qualification, as well as proven teaching experiences.
