With this position, the Faculty of Medicine aims to strengthen the focus area "Neuroinflammation" (SFB/TRR Initiative NeuroMac: "Development, function and potential of myeloid cells in central nervous system").
With regard to the increasingly important role of stem cell biology and hematology for the development of novel therapeutic approaches for neurovascular diseases successful candidates are expected to develop novel pre-clinical models for investigating the molecular mechanisms of neurovascular diseases in terms of signalling pathways and transcriptional programs. Candidates with a profound expertise in animal models of neurodegenerative diseases, vascular biology and stem cell biology will be given preference.
