Hochschule der Medien Stuttgart (HdM)

Stuttgart Media University (HdM) educates and trains media specialists for businesses, organisations and institutions. Offering 18 Bachelor‘s and 11 Master‘s degree courses, we currently provide nearly 5,000 students with attractive opportunities for study. We are looking to appoint a suitable candidate for our degree in Online Media Management in the Information and Communication Department:

from the winter semester 2018/2019
onwards Pay band W3, code WS 171804P

The post holder will teach and research the following disciplines:
  • E-business / E-commerce
  • Basics of web/mobile technology in conjunction with XaaS
  • Software development and databases
  • Web and social media analytics
  • Business informatics
Applicants will be expected to have a university degree with a doctorate in business informatics, business administration with a technical specialisation or a similar discipline as well as relevant professional experience in e-business / e-commerce and software development. Applicants will also need to demonstrate excellent teaching skills.

The duties of the successful candidate will include, in particular:
  • Lectures in both compulsory and optional subjects at Bachelor‘s and Master‘s level and in English and German.
  • Supervising dissertations and project work, in addition to collaborating with industry professionals.
Open-mindedness towards new forms of university teaching is essential. The university‘s international focus also means that using foreign languages, especially in the form of courses taught in English, is part of its daily life. The post holder will need to be willing to play an active role on the university‘s administrative bodies and in the ongoing development of degree courses and curricula and to contribute towards boosting the university‘s profile through their independent research.
