Associate Professorships in Economics and Business Economics - 938935The Department of Economics and Business Economics at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University, invites applications for a number of associate professor positions in all fields of Economics and Business Economics (which includes Accounting, Finance, Logistics or similar). The associate professorships are full-time, permanent positions with expected starting date 1 May 2018 or as soon as possible subject to mutual agreement.
The successful applicant is expected to contribute significantly to the department‘s research and teaching environment and to the overall research strategy of the School. You are expected to teach and supervise students at Bachelor‘s, Master‘s and PhD level and to carry out individual and team-based research of the highest international standards, and to contribute to developing the academic fields covered by the department.
Applicants must possess research qualifications and teaching skills and experience corresponding to those obtained after successful completion of a period of employment as an assistant professor, but equivalent academic qualifications may also be accepted. To qualify for the associate professorship, you must do original research and document publications in highly ranked scientific journals. Potential for attracting external research funding counts positively. Equally important, you must be able to document quality teaching and good teaching evaluations at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in the fields of Economics and/or Business Economics.
Permanent employment as associate professor at Aarhus BSS requires completion of the supervision course and also the course Blended Learning – Go Online provided by Centre for Teaching and Learning at Aarhus BSS. If you have not completed the courses before commencement of employment, continued employment will be conditional on completion of the courses within a five year period.

The Department of Economics and Business Economics is one of the six departments at Aarhus BSS one of the four faculties at Aarhus University. Aarhus BSS unites the business and social science-related research fields and brings them closer together to reflect the close relationship between society and the business community. As part of a Top 100 university, Aarhus BSS, and specifically the Department of Economics and Business Economics, has achieved the distinguished AASCB, AMBA and Equis accreditations - the latter specifically applying to the school‘s core business activities.
At the Department of Economics and Business Economics, we cover a broad range of academic areas. We aim to conduct research in a broad range of areas within economics and business economics and offer a range of degree programmes at the highest level. The department employs approximately 140 academic staff members and 70 PhD students, and our academic staff is highly international and culturally diverse. We focus specifically on the recruitment of excellent and international researchers, and our research and degree programmes also have a strong international focus. The working language is English, and the majority of courses taught are in English.

The appointment is in accordance with the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Danish Universities as well as the circular on the Collective Agreement for Academics Employed by the State .
