The tenured appointment will be with a salary according to the W2 or W3 level depending on the standing, qualification and personal experience of the selected candidate. The professorship will be part of the rapidly evolving ’Digital Medicine’ Platform at BIH and Charité. Together with the recent strategic recruitments within this area, the E-Health and Intraoperability unit, and other relevant players, the successful candidate will be actively involved in the further development of this platform.

We expect that the successful candidate will strengthen the contribution of the Charité and the BIH to the Medical Informatics Initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
Charité and BIH seek to fill this position with an outstanding, internationally recognized scientist with an excellent track record in at least one area of the following areas of medical informatics, e.g.: clinical data management and ontologies, medical signal and imaging processing, personalized medicine, information security and distributed systems. The successful candidate should have a strong interest to applied research as well as the translation of newly developed methods and technologies into medical practice.
An excellent publication record demonstrating the quality of the research and a strong funding record are expected, as well as experience with respect to the initiation of interdisciplinary collaborative research projects. The successful candidate will be engaged in teaching activities (2 hours per week) at Charité, BIH, and MDC, supervise Master and Doctoral candidates, and participate in academic self-organization.
