Assistant Professorship (W1)
for Psychology with a Focus on Fostering
Individual Development

The post of the assistant professor is part of the interdisciplinary research center for „Research on Individual Development and Adaptive Education of Children at Risk“ (IDeA, see www.idea-frankfurt.eu) in which the DIPF and Goethe University collaborate closely. The position is organizationally attached to the Department of Education and Human Development (Director: Prof. Marcus Hasselhorn) at the DIPF and the Department of Educational Psychology at the Faculty for Psychology and Sports Sciences of Goethe University. The successful candidate is expected to conduct independent research on enhancing individual (cognitive, socio-emotional, self-regulatory) competencies relevant to child development. Regarding teaching, contributions are expected in the area of educational psychology and in teacher training (2 hours per week per semester).
The successful candidate should have experience in developmental and educational psychology and have conducted acknowledged research on the modifiability of individual learning conditions. Particularly desirable are innovative approaches (e. g., using modern information technology) to improving learning processes. Research experience in neuropsychological aspects of learning and the impact of educational and social learning contexts are also beneficial. The successful candidate will also be involved in teacher-training. Experience in teaching at school and novel ideas regarding this topic would be welcome.
Conditions of employment are an outstanding doctorate in psychology relevant publications in international journals, and research interests allowing good affiliation to the IDeA Center.
