We seek to fill a position in Reliability, Maintenance and Service Logistics at the level of an assistant professor. Within the department a line of research is strongly based in quantitative decision making in both a deterministic and stochastic context, and exploits models and techniques from deterministic and stochastic Operations Research, multi-agent systems, discrete event simulation and game theory. You are expected to collaborate intensively with researchers in social, engineering and mathematics and computer science and with external (industrial) partners. We expect you to:
- Conduct research in Reliability Engineering, Maintenance and/or service logistics
- Participate actively in existing research projects with internal and external (both academic and industrial) partners
- (co-)teach and coordinate courses in the Bachelor and Master programs of Industrial Engineering and Management, in particular in a bachelor module on Supply Chain Management, a master course on Reliability and Engineering Management and on topics related to Stochastic Models in Production and Service Logistics
- supervise bachelor and master students during their thesis research
- contribute towards the supervision of PhD students
- be active in acquiring externally funded research projects
- be a strong team player
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with a Doctoral degree (PhD) and research experience using quantitative or technology intensive research methods. We value a track record in research linking knowledge of ICT and expertise in a business domain (supply chain, health care, financial services). You have teaching experience, demonstrable didactic qualities and experience in student supervision. You have a record of high quality articles in reputed peer-reviewed scientific journals and conferences. You also have affinity with and preferably experience in working in a multidisciplinary environment. You are comfortable connecting technology and business and have a strong entrepreneurial and innovative spirit. Ideal candidates fit the university‘s high tech-human touch profile. While having expertise in state-of-the art technological concepts, you can position developments within a broader social science context (relating to industrial engineering, business and IT and international business). We are looking for someone with excellent communication and language skills and the ability and eagerness to be involved in commissioned research. Possession of the UTQ qualification or its equivalent is preferred; otherwise the University will fully support you in obtaining UTQ within a (maximum) period of 3 years. The salary scale, depending on your actual experience, ranges from € 3.427 to € 5.330 gross per month, based upon the job profile of Assistant Professor, level 2 or 1.
