3 Assistant Professors in Information and Software ScienceThe University of St.Gallen is undertaking a major initiative to mainstream digital sciences across its core disciplines of management, economics, law, and international affairs. In pursuit of this goal, the university has established a new Department of Computer Science within the School of Management and seeks applicants for each of three six-year Assistant Professor positions in Software Engineering and Management,Distributed Systems and Management, and Artificial Intelligence and Management. We seek individuals with a promising research profile in any of the following fields adapted to investigate information technology from a management perspective:Algorithm design, programming and software development (Software Engineering and Management); questions related to interconnected, distributed, and interactive software structures, including the internet, the World Wide Web, and the Internet of Things (Distributed Systems and Management); and learning systems, statistical modeling, or real-time information handling tools (Artificial Intelligence and Management). The assistant professorships involve abilities to publish in leading journals in the topic area, to teach courses at the Bachelor and Master levels, and to tutor Bachelor and Master level students. In addition to a completed doctorate, PhD or equivalent degree by the time of the appointment, the successful candidates will have a promising track record in peer-reviewed research in the topic areas.An excellent command in English paired with an international mindset are assets, as well as the ambition to excel in research, teaching and academic service alike.The ability to provide a broader understanding of academic insights and research results to a broader public will be highly appreciated.
