Emad Aziz Bekhit, Egypt

Emad Aziz Bekhit comes from Egypt. Ten years ago he came to Germany for the first time. Today, the 30-year-old is working successfully at the Adlershof Science and Technology Park in Berlin.

Last December he won the Ernst Eckhard Koch Prize, which is awarded for outstanding doctoral theses in the field of synchrotron radiation. With this high-energy radiation the chemist studies the electronic structure of ions in water. One of his areas of interest is the active center of hemoglobin.
