Obtain your doctorate in an excellent, interdisciplinary environment

How to Become a LEAD Member

Every year, LEAD admits up to 20 PhD students for the winter semester starting in October. Please visit our website for the current call for applications.

Aiming at outstanding doctoral research on interdisciplinary education-related topics, LEAD invites applications by excellent M.A. or M.Sc. graduates in Education Sciences, one of the neighboring LEAD disciplines or one of the programs that prepare specifically for a doctorate at LEAD.

About 20 students will be admitted with the beginning of the German winter semester in each October for doctoral positions. These include a three-year employment and 65 percent of an E13 salary (German Public Salary Scale) per month. All positions benefit from additional allowances for, e.g., conference travels and other research support.

Applications are welcome at any time and will be taken into account as positions become available. International job postings for doctoral positions and fellowships are also regularly announced on our website.
