Your qualification:
We are looking for a person who is recognized in education and research in the field of water management, who has excellent knowledge in several of the subject areas listed below as well as practical engineering experience. The person can represent this in the study courses of the bachelor's and master's courses in the department of Environmental Engineering and Applied Computer Science and in the research field – especially against the background of general climate change and the digital requirements for water management:
- Hydromechanics and fluid dynamics
- Applied hydrology and hydrometry
- Sustainable development of water bodies and its management
- Flood protection in urban and rural areas
- Climate change and impacts on water management
- Sustainable irrigation techniques
- Digitalisation processes in water management
- Modeling and catchment/run-off simulation, as well as one- and multi-dimensional flow simulation.
The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Ostwestfalen-Lippe lives the unity of education and research. You are interested and willing to take an active part in raising third-party funds and research projects in the subject areas you are responsible for. Ideally, you should have an appropriate network at national and international level and cooperate with colleagues at the university.
You identify yourself with the supervision concept of the university, in which a high presence of the lecturers at the university’s campus and the willingness to take on tasks of the university's self-administration are required. You offer your courses in German. In addition, you are qualified to conduct courses in English. Furthermore, participation in the research focus "Sustainable water management and preventive water protection" is expected.
In addition, you promote innovative and interdisciplinary study and communication formats for interdisciplinary teaching and for dialogue between science and society. In particular, this can include student project work that is interdisciplinary and, if possible, involves several departments. If necessary, you will provide 25 % of your teaching as digital teaching to enable cross-location events.
