at the earliest possible starting date for a
of Systems Immunology as a part of the
Cluster of Excellence ImmunoSensation²
The professorship will be embedded within the Cluster of Excellence Immuno
Sensation² funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). This cluster of
excellence represents an outstanding scientific environment, with an internationally
renowned focus on research in immunology.
The professorship is expected to strengthen the expertise within the Cluster of
Excellence with state-of-the-art methods in the area of systems biology. Furthermore,
expertise in mass spectroscopy for proteomics analysis is expected.
Beyond the research conducted in the cluster, exceptional opportunities exist
for cooperation with the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases
(DZNE), the Mildred-Scheel School of Oncology, and the West German Genome
The position is open to scientists with an outstanding record of scientific
achievements, competitive third-party funding, and qualification for teaching
in subject-specific degree and graduate programs. The successful applicant is
expected to integrate into the research focus areas of the Medical Faculty by
participating in collaborative research networks.
A prerequisite for the position is the 'Habilitation', or an equivalent scientific
achievement, according to Article 36 of the Higher Education Act North Rhine-
