"Interdisciplinary didactics of the STEM subjects and of sports” – endowed professorship of the Vector Foundation and Gips-Schüle Foundation
We are looking for an outstandingly qualified and internationally recognised academic personality who represents the interdisciplinary didactics of STEM subjects and sports in research and teaching. In order to adequately meet the requirements of the interdisciplinary field of activity, proof of subject didactic research work must be provided in form of publications in the areas of sports and STEM.
In order to further strengthen the teaching profession at KIT across disciplines, the main research focus should be found in the school-related cross-sectional areas of digitalisation in the classroom and dealing with heterogeneity, and show references to gender and diversity research. Competences in qualitative and quantitative empirical research methods are desired as well as experience in the development of interdisciplinary teaching-learning units.
As the jobholder will be the scientific director of the teaching-learning laboratory "MINT in Bewegung" at the Institute for School Pedagogy and Didactics and will continously be developing it in the future, teaching experience with student and teaching-learning laboratories is desirable. In addition, cooperation with other student labs at KIT and close cooperation with the Centre for Teacher Education (ZLB) at the House of Competence (HoC) are desired. The requirements for the jobholder also include tasks in the collegial management of the Institute for School Pedagogy and Didactics (ISD).
Skills in acquiring third-party funding and the management of scientific working groups are expected, as well as very good didactic skills in teaching topics of interdisciplinary didactics of STEM subjects and sports as well as the willingness to participate in the organisation of the teaching degree programmes and the academic self-administration (especially for the teaching degree). The teaching obligation (9 SWS) is preferably to be fulfilled in the teaching degree programmes.
Qualifications are a completed teaching degree for the Gymnasium and a completed 2nd state examination (or equivalent qualification) in a STEM subject and sports, an outstanding doctorate as well as a habilitation or equivalent academic achievements. In all other respects, please note the prerequisites for employment according to § 14 (2) of the KIT Act in conjunction with § 47 LHG Baden-Württemberg (Act of Baden-Württemberg on Universities and Colleges).
