University Professor - salary grade W3
for the chair of "Medical Biotechnology".
Reference number: III-100/19 (starting at the earliest possible / permanent / closing date for applications 05/04/19)
Working field: The position holder is expected to teach medical biotechnology in its entirety and contribute to the bachelor and master courses
"Biotechnology" as well as supervise final bachelor and master's degree projects. He/she should be able to teach in English language and, after a learning period
and restricted to undergraduate teaching, as well in German language. Engagement in the academic self-administration is expected. Research activities should
focus on organoid technology development and the integration of emulated organs into microphysiological systems and organ-on-a-chip systems. Research topics relevant
for basic and applied sciences shall be addressed. The successful candidate should integrate their scientific work into existing research networks in Berlin and actively
contribute to the development of new research initiatives.
Requirements: Candidates must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act)
[information sheet available by request], including a finished academic education in life sciences, process engineering or a comparable discipline, qualified achievements in
research (PhD), post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or equivalent qualification (e.g., documented by quality of scientific papers) and pedagogical and didactic
qualifications, to be given proof of by a teaching portfolio (for more information see TUB website, quick access no.
Candidates should have an internationally visible research profile in the above-mentioned field with special emphasis on innovative methods as reflected by high quality scientific
publications and successful grant applications. Experience in teaching as well as acquisition and management of research projects should be documented by the last five-years record.
Experience with the promotion of young scientists and regarding gender and diversity aspects are desired.
For applicants who do not speak German, a commitment to swiftly learn the German language is expected. Good English language skills are desired.
