Technische Universität Berlin, Faculty I – Humanities – Center for lnterdisciplinary Research on Women and Gender (ZIFG) invites applications for a position of a
University Professor - salary grade W3
for the chair of "lnterdisciplinary Women* and Gender Studies".
The position is advertised under the reserve that funds are granted and will be financed through the Federation's and the
federal states' Women Professors Programme to promote equality of Men and Women in Science and Research.

Working field: The prospective position holder should represent the subject area "lnterdisciplinary Women* and Gender Studies". At the ZIFG,
gender research is understood and taught as ’Critical Ontology of the Present«, focussing on social transformation processes in the triangle of power-knowledge-subject.
Theory-generating research in the field of intersectional gender studies is thus expected.
The following topics should be given special consideration in research:
Transdisciplinary analyses of the formation of gender relations in the field of tension of society, history, culture, technology, science, education and global power relations.
Analyses of the intersectional constructions of gender and gender orders and their relevance to the construction and order of societies, (scientific) knowledge and technology.
Gender-sensitive research on higher education (academic cultures, professions, and institutions) and transformation processes in higher education.
Subject-specific teaching tasks amounting to 9 SWS are to be taken over in the modules of the ZIFG, in the orientation program MINTgrün, in the study program Gender Pro MINT,
in the Master program Educational Science, in the BA Culture and Technology and university-wide for all study courses of the TU Berlin. The courses must be held in German and English.
Requirements: Candidates must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act).
These include a completed academic degree in Gender Studies or a different subject and a clear focus in the field of Gender Studies, academic achievements (doctorate in Gender
Studies or with a corresponding emphasis), habilitation or habilitation equivalent qualifications (scientific publications) as well as pedagogical and didactic qualification,
proven by a teaching portfolio (for further information see TUB website, quick access 144242). Desired are independent, theory-generating research experiences, experience in
directing research teams as well as ideas for the establishment and expansion of the cooperation of the ZIFG in research and teaching with countries in the global south.
Experience with post and decolonial perspectives in gender studies is therefore an advantage. Applicants are invited to submit a first (maximum 2-page) conceptual presentation
of the planned research and teaching activity with the application.
Required is also the ability and willingness to cooperate in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research collaborations and the initiation and organization of networking
in the field of gender research within the TU Berlin, as well as the expansion and consolidation of networking with the gender research institutions of other Berlin universities,
as well as participation in academic self-government. Unless you have German language skills, you are ready to acquire them in a reasonable time frame.
