University Professor – salary grade W3
in the field of "Materials for Additive Manufacturing". The professorship is part of the Werner-von-Siemens Centre for Industry and Science (WvSC).

Working field: The successful candidate should represent a new subject area "Materials for Additive Manufacturing" in teaching and research as well as to further develop the research focus of the Institute for Materials Science and Technology in Key Application Area "Material, Design and Manufacturing" of the TU Berlin. Close cooperation with berlin-based companies and research institutes in the technology areas "New Materials", additive manufacturing and digitization within the framework of the Werner-von-Siemens Centre for Industry and Science (WvSC) is expected. In teaching, the person to be appointed is primarily responsible for supervising the newly developed International MSc study course Additive Manufacturing as well as contributing significantly to the courses BSc and MSc Materials Science with compulsory and elective courses. TU Berlin is looking for an internationally recognized researcher who has excellent research achievements in the field of materials for additive manufacturing. The research areas should include experimental as well as theoretical aspects of material development for high-temperature applications in at least one of these areas:
Materials and process development for multi- und hybrid-material Additive Manufacturing
Bonding and structure of interfaces in composite materials / between dissimilar materials
Transport properties across multi and hybrid-material interfaces
Requirements: Candidates must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act) [information sheet available by request], including a finished academic education, qualified achievements in research (generally proven by PhD), additional research achievements (Habilitation, post-doctoral teaching, or equivalent qualification) and pedagogical suitability, to be given proof of by a teaching portfolio (for more information see TUB website, quick access no. 144242). The successful candidate needs to demonstrate research experience in the abovementioned fields; aptitude in the leadership of a working group; experience in the supervision of student theses and doctorates; experience in initiating, soliciting and managing national and international third-party-funded projects. In addition, competencies and experience in the field of promoting young researche's and women as well as in the area of gender mainstreaming are desirable. Social competence as well as the ability and willingness for cooperative cooperation with partners within and outside the IWCB and the Technische Universität Berlin round off the requirement profile. Applicants must be able to teach classes in German and English.
