University Professor - salary grade W3
in the field of "Intelligent Systems".
The professorship is an innovation professorship, an instrument of strategic planning in higher education jointly developed by the executive board and the university‘s faculties, in order to be able to quickly and flexibly develop and enhance promising areas.

Working field: Teaching and research pertaining to the foundations, methods, and applications of intelligent systems. Course offerings should be embedded in the Bachelor and Master‘s program on computer science; they should also establish connections to related areas, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, and computer vision. Course offerings targeting students of biological intelligence (e.g. psychology, neuroscience, behavioral biology) is desirable. The fundamental and interdisciplinary research conducted by the candidate in the area of intelligent systems should be conducive to collaborations with related research areas, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, computer vision, control).
In case of a positive decision about the cluster of excellence "Science of Intelligence", which was jointly applied for by TU Berlin and HU Berlin, the candidate is expected to contribute to the joint project.
Requirements: Successful applicants must fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance ith § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a completed academic education, qualified achievements in research (PhD), post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or equivalent scientific qualification (scientific papers) as well as pedagogical didactic qualifications, to be given proof of by a teaching portfolio (for more information see TUB website, quick access no. 144242).
Applicants should have very good research and teaching experience preferably in the area of foundations, methods, and applications of intelligent systems, usually demonstrated by international publications, successful third party funding and a relevant teaching portfolio. Especially experiences from interdisciplinary collaborations in this area are desirable. The willingness to offer English-language teaching is also a prerequisite. The willingness to learn German is expected from Non-German speaking applicants.
