The successful applicant will cover research and teaching in the field of pharmaceutical technology.
Appointment requirements are governed by Section 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (
Berliner Hochschulgesetz).
Successful candidates will be licensed pharmacists and/or have an academic background in pharmaceutical technology research. They will have published groundbreaking research in well-respected journals with a focus on the field of pharmaceutical technology. They will have a background in internationally visible partnerships and joint research projects and experience in acquiring and leading externally funded research projects. The appointee will be conducting research on a subject from the field of pharmaceutical technology related to the development and characterization of drug delivery systems and innovative materials. They will have considerable prior experience in teaching (lectures, seminars, practical courses, and examinations) in German according to the relevant pharmacy licensing regulations (Approbationsordnung für Apotheker) and will be expected to teach in English in the master’s degree program “Pharmaceutical Science.” The applicant’s research should also be related to the research areas of the working groups based at the Institute of Pharmacy.
Along with the regular official duties of professors listed in Section 99 of the Berlin Higher Education Act, we expect the appointee to engage in the following activities:
The successful candidate will establish research projects within the framework of existing or planned joint research projects within the Institute of Pharmacy, the Department of Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, the Berlin University Alliance, and adjacent departments and research institutions (Department of Veterinary Medicine, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin). They will participate in the joint initiatives of working groups at the Institute of Pharmacy and cooperate with working groups in thematically relevant areas at Freie Universität Berlin. They will also address gender and diversity in their teaching.
