The successful applicant will cover the area named above in research and teaching.
From a microeconomic perspective, the professorship is the interface between the economic
research focus areas of Public Economics and Area Studies.
Appointment requirements are governed by Article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act
(Berliner Hochschulgesetz).
We are looking for a candidate with a research focus in one of the following fields of applied
microeconomic theory: Competition theory and regulation, digital markets, mechanism
design and contract theory. Successful applicants should have teaching experience
preferably in an international environment and a distinguished record of research preferably
international collaboration. Additionally, she or he is expected to have experience in
acquiring and leading externally funded research projects.
Apart from the official duties in accordance with Article 99 of the Berlin Higher Education
Act, we expect the appointee to engage in the following activities:
We expect the new professor to publish research results in renowned international journals.
Further, the appointee will engage in the acquisition of third party funding with international
impact and participate in joint projects with an interdisciplinary orientation. The appointee is
expected to address gender and diversity issues relevant to the field.
