The successful applicant will cover the Educational Science in research and teaching. The professorship is based in education and focuses on institutions within the educational system.The position interconnects the different educational foci of both school and extracurricular education within the scientific unit of pedagogy and primary education.
Appointment requirements are governed by Article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz).
Successful candidates are required to have a focus on one or more of the following areas: "Cooperation across institutional boundaries in the fields of school and extracurricular education", "education policy and administration" and/or "educational networks". We are looking for someone with a compatibility to research perspectives from the social or political sciences and a methodological focus on qualitative research or ‘mixed methods‘. The candidate is required to have experience in university teaching in an international environment and have an excellent track record of research activities. Additionally, she or he is required to have experience in acquiring and leading externally funded research projects.
Apart from the official duties in accordance with Article 99 of the Berlin Higher Education Act, we expect the appointee to engage in the following activities:
The new professor is expected to initiate new research projects as well as develop and engage in the department‘s joint research activities. She or he will teach courses in the Bachelor programme "Educational Science" and the Master programme "Educational Research" as well as in pedagogical modules of the teacher training if necessary. We also expect our new colleague to engage in the further development of the before-mentioned study programs. Additionally, the appointee is expected to emphasize diversity-sensitive teaching methods and to address gender and diversity issues relevant to the field in his or her research.

Furthermore, please include information on involvement in ongoing and future research endeavours, joint research projects and externally funded projects, and if necessary language certificates. If applicable for the respective content area, please give information on industrial cooperation, inventions/patents and spin-offs.
