Tenured Professorship in
"Education for people with learning
difficulties" (W2 salary)
within the "Philosophische Fakultät III", "Institut für Rehabilitationspädagogik". The position will
commence preferably by April 1st, 2021.
The post-holder will need to represent the full scope of research and lecturing in the field of
Pedagogy of Learning Difficulties (Pädagogik bei Lernbeeinträchtigungen). A profile with
particular focus on the social inequality in school education is desired.
Furthermore, the following domains are seen as important:
inclusive school and teaching development
inclusive education theory and didactics of education without exclusion
Requirements for application:
First State Examination (1. Staatsprüfung) for the teaching profession in special education or
comparable education associated degree
Experiences in the acquisition of third-party research funds desired
Applicants need to fulfill the pre-conditions of appointment as stipulated in section 35 of the
Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities. Particular emphasis is placed on a Habilitation in the
relevant field, or an equivalent level of scientific achievement and recognition. Candidates are
expected to have attained the appropriate level of experience or qualification in teaching.
Due to the fact that the duties of the professorship include the education of teaching staff, and
according to section 35 (4) of the Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities, it is expected that
candidates will have at least three years' experience of teaching in a public or private school.
Exceptions may be made.
The duties of the professorship include lectures within the special-needs education course of
studies, basic qualifications in inclusive education within further academic teacher training and
lecture offerings within educational science studies. An active cooperation with the Center for
School and Educational Research (ZSB) is desired. It is also expected that the post-holder
actively participates within the university's committees.
