The ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim, Germany is one of the leading economic research institutes in Europe. The ZEW is a non-profit organization and works in the field of frontier empirical economic research and high-level policy advice. It is integrated into an extensive national and international network of universities and research institutes.
The ZEW is looking to fill the following position in the Research Department Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics:
Tenure-Track Researcher (PhD) (100 %, f/m/d) Economics of Innovation
As a successful applicant, you will contribute to the department's scientific research agenda as well as its economic policy analyses, addressing research topics such as the determinants and impacts of firm-level innovation, the links between public and private research, or new technology based entrepreneurship. Working with a wide range of empirical methods, you will conduct scientific research with the goal of publication in high-level scientific journals and engage in policy analysis and policy reviews with high visibility among economic decision makers and the general public.
The position is suitable for researchers who have completed their doctorate in economics, strategic management, industrial organisation, entrepreneurship, or economics of science and innovation. Candidates should have in-depth knowledge of micro-economics and micro-econometrics. Candidates are not expected to teach but should be interested in developing the department's research agenda, contributing to an excellent publication performance and, based on rigorous academic research, advising regional, national and European authorities. On top of this, candidates should have excellent writing skills. Fluency in German and English is required.

This is a full-time position for an initial period of three years, with the possibility of extension to another three years. Remuneration is based on the TV-L statutory salary scale and its associated public sector benefits.
