Tenure Track Professorship (W1 Tenure Track to W2/W3) in Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy
A core focus of pharmaceutical technology is the targeted delivery of bioactive substances to specific cellular structures. This can be achieved, for example, through nanoformulations. Targeted delivery can include genetic material (preferably RNA), therapeutic antibodies, or even chemically synthesized active ingredients.This call is explicitly aimed at researchers in the early stages of their scientific careers. The duration of the em-ployment in research and science after obtaining the doctoral degree should not exceed four years (in medicine: seven years in the case of successful completion of further medical training in accordance with Section 62 (6) Hess.HG). In addition, applicants should not have received their doctorate at the University of Marburg. In case the doctoral degree was obtained at the University of Marburg, the applicant should have worked in research and science outside of the University of Marburg for at least two years thereafter (in accordance with § 70 Abs. 3 Hessisches Hochschulgesetz Hess.HG, the State of Hessen Higher Education Act).
Tasks:
We are looking for a dedicated personallity who can explore the research area of "Modern drug formulations for the targeting of procaryotic and eucaryotic cells," such as RNA delivery. Relevant research in one of these areas is required.Participation in modern teaching in the subfield of "Pharmaceutical Technology" in accordance with the licensing regulations for pharmacists, as well as participation in interdisciplinary courses, including those taught in English, and involvement in collaborative research projects are expected.
We are looking for a researcher who will strengthen the research priorities of the Department of Pharmacy by establishing an own research group and actively participate in research networks and initiatives of the Department of Pharmacy and Philipps University Marburg.
Profile:
A university degree in life sciences or natural sciences, ideally in pharmacy with a license to practice as a pharmacist, an outstanding doctorate in a field of pharmaceutical technology or a related field of research and particular pedagogical aptitude are required. Experience in the successful acquisition of third-party funding is desirable.The employment requirements of §§ 67, 68 and especially 70 Hess.HG apply. The Tenure Track professorship is initially a grade W1 fixed term (6 years) position. If the requirements under general German civil service law are met, the applicant shall be granted a temporary civil service status for a period of six years. In the event of a positive evaluation based on a target agreement for the appointment to a W2- or W3- professorship, the applicant will be granted a civil service status for life, combined with the assignment of a permanent W2- or W3-professorship depending on job availability.
