Tenure Track Assistant Professor
in »Multiscale Modeling of Fluid Materials«

to begin in winter semester 2018/19. The position is a W2 fixed-term position (6 years) with tenure track option to a tenured W3 position (Associate Professor). The professorship is funded by the Federal Tenure Track Programme.

Scientific environment
The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Mechanical Engineering. Important links exist to the TUM Departments of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Informatics as well as to the TUM School of Life Sciences Weihenstephan.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of Multiscale Modeling of Fluid Materials with a strong numerical / theoretical component, e.g. in the context of modelling, process description or diagnostics. The teaching load includes courses in the university‘s bachelor and master programs.

Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who has demonstrated initial scientific achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international standards. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification as well as pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
