About us: The study program "Berlin and Germany in a European perspective" for international exchange students is designed exclusively for international exchange students who study for one or two semesters at Freie Universität. Thematically and didactically, the courses are tailored to their interests and needs. The courses focus on central aspects of culture, society, politics, and history of Berlin and Germany in a European or global context, but also with relevant current topics and debates in Germany, Europe and Berlin. Additionally, the courses teach academic, intercultural and language skills that are important for studying at a German university. More information about courses and lecturers can be found here:
Job description: Teaching four courses per semester (8 teaching hours) in English about topics in history, politics, and/ or society with relevance to Berlin, Germany and / or Europe; supervising students' work, conducting examinations.
Applicants must have completed a university degree in Modern History, Political Science or Social Sciences. They must demonstrate that they have at least three years of work experience in an academic or practical field (usually as full-time employee), and they need to prove their pedagogic suitability.
Applicants should have a PhD; they should also have academic teaching experience, ideally in culturally diverse groups, have acquired intercultural competence and a very good
knowledge of English (C2) as well as solid German language skills.
